Chief designer Ernst Strobl optimized the aspect ratio in several steps and the enormous good-naturedness of the wing concept allowed a tightening and thus the high increase in performance. The OBSESSION5 is equipped with a Sharknose (SNP), which provides more stability at higher speeds. The 3D Shaping (3DS) gives the leading edge a dynamic tension and, in combination with the Precision Profile Nose (PPN), increases the profile fidelity in the leading edge area. Elaborate calculations of the wing pre-tensioning and precise ballooning help the profile to achieve perfect airflow. The High Pressure Crossport Design (HPCD) optimizes the cross-ventilation of the crossports and creates a balanced internal pressure of the wing. Miniribs (MRB) on the trailing edge of the wing ensure that the profile retains its shape and optimize the aerodynamics during control impulses. The line setup is kept very clear with three main lines. The line levels are color-coded, which is a great help when sorting and in flight.
