With the BACKUP QX series, U-Turn presents the innovation of the cross cap. The new surface division prevents the dangerous scissor position and immediately stabilizes the pendulum moment itself. We therefore call it intelligent quarter stabilization. In addition, the four-part division ensures minimal sinking with minimal surface area and immediate opening times. In combination with the automatic pendulum stabilization, the lightweight rescuer ensures impressive overall values. The second sink test times after water landing are still within the certification range at 5.1 m/s, but with an additional 10 kilos of weight for the sizes specified. U-Turn strives for the highest level of safety and, as an innovation pioneer, is also breaking new ground with the BACKUP.
Thanks to the use of the latest high-tech materials and the new quarter construction, the BACKUP QX is a lightweight with plenty of surface area. This is crucial for the sink rate and pendulum-free flight behavior. Efficient air outlets – in conjunction with the pre-tensioning at the base edge using the Rapid Inflation System (RIS) – make up for the surface area in terms of inflation behavior and opening time. This has enabled the rescue concept to undercut the strict EN and LTF certification standards with a payload of 10 kilos. State-of-the-art manufacturing processes are also used during processing in accordance with the highest safety standards. Backup: Long-term durability with water-repellent properties
The material mix is designed for long-term durability. The Paratex SX 20 cap material used is characterized by its high resistance and low-stretch properties. An antistatic coating serves as an adhesion barrier, which prevents the fabric from sticking together.
